I am incredibly excited and humbled to share that my upcoming recording project, Together Again for the First Time, has been recognized nationally with a 2026 New Music USA Creator Fund award!
New Music USA’s Creator Fund supports individual music creators who are taking their creative practice and collaborations to the next stage, empowering music makers to bring visionary projects to fruition. Out of a highly competitive pool of professional musicians across 13 states, this year’s grant selectively funds projects that demonstrate artistic excellence, original artistry, and meaningful collaboration.
"Receiving the New Music USA Creator Fund award is an incredible milestone and a massive catalyst for my upcoming recording project," Iwanusa shared. "This funding directly supports the intensive collaboration required to bring Together Again for the First Time to life. It is a profound privilege to have the backing of a national advocate like New Music USA as I head into the studio this summer at Sear Sound with a 17-piece dream orchestra of my closest, career-long collaborators—including legendary artists like Tim Hagans, Rich Perry, Mike Malone, and Rufus Reid.”
